Operation in an IT system is not possible in the power range 15....30 kW (remedied from HW 1E)

Eliminated from:
Single Drive 9400 HighLine, 15…30 kW
• E94ASHE0324xxxxxxx.1E.xx
• E94ASHE0474xxxxxxx.1E.xx
• E94ASHE0594xxxxxxx.1E.xx

Behaviour of the new version:
You find over the terminals X100 (+UG/-UG) a screw, which can be screwed into two positions. Position 'TT-TN' (Lenze settting) and 'IT' systems. Additionally you find on the left of the device a metal strap. Insert this metal strap at position 'IT'. After this both measures, the device is suitable for operation in IT systems.

Which products are affected?
Servo Drives 9400 HighLine, 15…30 kW
• E94ASHE0324xxxxxxx.1B.xx
• E94ASHE0474xxxxxxx.1B.xx
• E94ASHE0594xxxxxxx.1B.xx

What happens?
Due to their design, the devices for the power range 15…30 kW are only suitable for use in earthed-neutral systems.
Operation in mains systems with an isolated star point (IT system) may cause excessively high voltage at the mains phases of the device and may thus damage the drive controller.

When does the problem occur?
Application in mains systems with an isolated star point (IT system):
• In the event of short circuit or earth fault of a mains phase
• In the event of a shift in the phase voltages in relation to the star point in the isolated mains

Possible diagnostics?
Check the voltage to PE at the mains input terminals of the device.

Short-term measures/recommendations?
Devices which are capable of being connected to IT systems should be available in the first quarter of 2007, at which point they can be swapped.
Operate drives on an isolating transformer with isolated star point or in a delta connection on the primary side and an earthed neutral on the secondary side.

Evaluation
With the given boundary conditions, it may be possible to configure applications in advance.
