Which products are affected?
ESP-DDS2-x (Drive PLC Developer Studio V2.3)
What happens?
The Global Drive Control (GDC) or Drive Server does not indicate the units of the user codes defined in the Instance Parameter Manager (tab Resources) of the DDS project.
When does the problem occur?
During the compilation process DDS generates a project-specific device description file. Among other things the device description file comprises the display texts of all codes for parameter setting programs such as GDC. The DDS does not save the units for user codes defined in the Instance Parameter Manager of the DDS project in the device description file. Thus the units of these codes cannot be displayed by the parameter setting programs.
The Parameter Monitor (tab Resources) is not affected by this function restriction.
Possible diagnostics?
None.
Short-term measures/recommendations?
None.
Evaluation:
Parameter setting programs such as GDC do not indicate the units for the user codes. However, it is still possible to access these codes without restrictions.
