Timer of the Automatic Operations are not precise

Which products are affected?
ESP-HMI1-P (HMI Designer Version 1.3 and higher)

What happens?
Dependent on the keypad used up to 32 timers (=time elements) with intervals between 100 ms and 25 s with a step length of 100 ms can be defined. These timers can start Automatic Operations, e. g. in order to calculate cyclically code values by means of the keypad.

The interval times of the timers in the keypad deviate from the times defined in the HMI project by 10 % and more.

When does the problem occur?
The accuracy of the timers in the Automatic Operations depends on the scope of the HMI project. The delay of the timer increases in proportion to the scope of the project. The maximum delay of the timers cannot be indicated precisely. Especially functions regarding the communication have a stronger impact on the time behaviour of the timers.

Possible diagnostics?
None.

Short-term measures / recommendations?
Use the timers of the Automatic Operations only for those tasks in your application that do not require very precise interval times.

Evaluation:
The keypad executes the timers of the Automatic Operations imprecisely. The timers are mainly used in systems in which no PLC is applied.
