Process data channel transmits the command area incorrectly

Which products are affected?
ESP-HMI1-P (HMI Designer Version 1.x)

What happens?
The keypad can be controlled by a device connected via the command area (project component Exchange areas). Thus the device connected can e. g. activate a page change or switch on/off the LEDs of the keypad. The project component Device memory areas determines which of the devices connected should control the keypad.

It is not possible to control the keypad via the command area.

When does the problem occur?
The command area is not transmitted correctly if a process data channel has been selected in the project component Device memory areas to transmit the command area.

Possible diagnostics?
None.

Short-term measures/recommendations?
Use a parameter channel to transmit the command area of the keypad.

This function restriction has been eliminated with Service Pack 2 of the HMI Designer V1.6.

Evaluation:
The use of the keypad command area only makes sense when being applied by PLC target systems (e. g. a Servo PLC). The command area is usually transmitted in the parameter channel and not in the process data channel since the information to be transmitted is not time-critical. This function restriction is detected during commissioning of the machine/plant at the latest.
