Binary file (*.bin) with a size of 0 kByte

Which products are affected?
ESP-DDS2-x (Global Drive PLC Developer Studio version 2.2)
Global Drive Loader version 2.2
Card File Handler version 1.1

What happens?
A binary file (*.bin) cannot be opened via GD Loader or Card File Handler. The following error message is indicated: 'Error during opening the binary file'.

When does the problem occur?
The 'simulation' option is activated in the menu item 'online' of Drive PLC Developer Studio. When logging in the simulation mode, a binary file with a size of 0 kByte can be generated.

Possible diagnostics?
Use the Windows Explorer to check the size of the binary file used. The file has to be larger than 0 kByte.

Short-term measures/recommendations?
Deactivate the 'simulation' option in the Drive PLC Developer Studio and compile the project. A correct binary file will then be generated.

Evaluation:
If the simulation mode is active, the project is not processed in the Drive PLC, but on the PC via DDS. By means of this mode, you can test the logical correctness of the program, but not the drive functionality.
This function restriction will be detected during commissioning at the latest.
