Unlike with
centralised drive technology, with distributed drive technology in multi-motor drive systems, only the supply and, if necessary, parts of a central control system are installed in the control cabinet. All other function units such as inverters and control systems are installed directly on site with the individual motors or directly connected to the motors. They are supplied by an energy and a control bus.
This concept is particularly of advantage for bigger or spatially distributed machines and systems. It also provides special advantages in connection with the modular design of machines.
