Contouring controls

Term of the numerical control technology (NC-, CNC-technology).
Contouring controls enable tool-workpiece relative movements along any two- or three-dimensioned workpiece contour. There are always two or more machine axes active and in logical dependency. Contouring controls can be used for flame cutters, profile-turning and milling machines, spark erosion machines, contour grinding machines, machines for cutting leather and textile and jointed-arm robots.
