Communication standard for highly accurate servo applications, e. g. for the information exchange between a
CNC control and digital servo drives and decentral I/Os. It enables very quick - up to 10 Mbit/s - and precise real time communication between a master and several slaves via an optical fibre ring. Internationally standardized since 1995 under IEC 1491.
