Dual-use regulation: Implementation of the frequency limitation to max. 599 Hz for Lenze controllers

Question:
When will Lenze frequency inverters meeting the requirements for export without explicit export license in accordance with the EC dual-use regulation of 2014 be available?

Answer:
According to the EC dual-use regulation of 2014, the output frequency of inverters has to be limited to max. 599 Hz.
Devices that comply with this regulation can be sold without explicit export license and may also be delivered as spare parts abroad.
The below-listed devices will be by default equipped with the required output frequency limitation to max. 599 Hz.
The limitation is implemented by means of a function extension in the firmware.
  • 9400  (type name E94A... and E94B...):  Devices require an export license. 
  • 9400  (type name E94C...):      Device in accordance with the dual-use regulation. Available in the power range 0.37 to 55 kW.
  • 8400 StateLine:                        V17.xx as from June 2017   
  • 8400 HighLine:                        V17.xx as from 2017   
  • 8400 TopLine:                          V17.xx as from 2017
  • i700 FW V2:                             V02.10.12 as from August 2017
  • i500:                                        All versions in accordance with the dual-use regulation
  • i950:                                        All versions in accordance with the dual-use regulation
  • i750:                                        All versions in accordance with the dual-use regulation
 
Special features for the i700 servo inverter:
Parallel to the devices of the previous series (V01.xx.xx), Lenze offers devices that comply with the dual-use regulation (V02.xx.xx).
The different main version of the firmware versions ensures that the dual-use regulation cannot be bypassed by means of a firmware download.
Users can only load versions with the same main version via a firmware download.
