Touch probe positioning during continuous traversing

Question:

How can a touch probe positioning be executed during continuous traversing according to external speed selection?

Answer:

When positioning mode 12 (SpeedTPRelative) is applied to the template positioner V3.3 and when a profile speed is adapted to the override function there is always a response to the touch probe signal within a continuous feed, and consequently a relatively short residual distance can be traversed.

In case of positioning with mode 12 a continuous feed is executed with the parameterized profile speed (C3100/x). This profile speed can be adapted via the override function (between 0 % and 100 % of C1240 = vmax). Consequently, the speed setpoint is to be copied to g_nVelOverride.

Please consider:
  • The selected speed is to be standardized (g_nVelOverride_a = 16384 corresponds to C1240 = vmax)
  • In case of continuous feeds the software limits are to be inactivated (C3040 = 0 and C3041 = 0)
