Areas of the internal register

Question:

How do the areas of the internal variables in the HMI overlap?

Answer:

We distinguish between two internal registers:

a) Internal registers:
  • Possible selection: WORD, DWORD, FLOATING POINT, STRING
  • Area: 0-1023

Caution:
If address 0 is assigned a double word, address 1 is also assigned. The next variable must therefore be assigned address 2 to avoid unwanted overlapping of data areas. HMI Designer does not recognise data overlapping.

b) Internal registers (Bit):
  • Possible selection: BIT
  • Area: 0-16367

Caution:
The bit area overlaps with the area of internal registers, i.e.g bit 0-15 corrspond to address 0.

Addressing:
DWORD0_1_
WORD0123
BIT0-1516-3132-6364-...
