I²xt function of the 8200 vector / motec

Question:

How are parameters set to the internal motor temperature monitoring (I²x t function)?

Answer:
  • I²x t function is not active during default setting C120 = 0 (Time to trip is infinity).
  • In case of overload the activated I²x t counter will set the failure indication TRIP OC6. With the mains disconnection the memory of the I² x t function is set to 0, therefore the I² x t function offers no motor protection.

In order to avoid a thermal overload of the motor, C0120 can be set as follows:

C0120 = motor rated current / inverter rated current * 100 %

Remark:
The I²xt monitoring is no total motor protection, it is, however, sufficient for many applications (see operating instructions).
