Remedied from:
ESP-DDS2-x (Global Drive PLC Developer Studio Version 2.2)
Behaviour of the new version:
a) When installing the update of DDS version 2.2 the user can decide whether the existing DDS version is to be replaced or if the update is to be installed in parallel to the existing version.
If the existing DDS version is replaced by the update version, previously installed software packages and their libraries are adapted.
In case of the parallel installation the software packages are not transferred to the new DDS version.
b) The settings in system bus configurator (CAN) are not affected by the installation of the update.
Which products are affected?
ESP-DDS2-P (Global Drive PLC Developer Studio Version 2.0, 2.1)
and system bus configurator CAN (irrespective of version)
What happens?
After installation of the update of DDS Version 2.0 to Version 2.1 the settings in the system bus configurator are reset, e. g. the interrupt setting for the PC system bus adaptor.
The software packages installed under DDS Version 2.0 are not available in the new version. DDS projects which have been created with those software packages under DDS Version 2.0 cannot be compiled without errors in the new version because the libraries of the software packages are missing in the new version.
When does the problem occur?
Owing to the update of DDS Version 2.0 to Version 2.1 the existing conversion is not replaced – the new version is installed in parallel with the old version. The software packages installed afterwards for the old version are not copied into the new version. That is, the libraries required for the software packages are not in the relevant directory of the new DDS version.
Possible diagnostics?
None.
Short-term measures/recommendations?
a) Check the settings in the system bus configurator.
b) After the update install the software packages on your PC again.
Evaluation:
Owing to this function restriction the software packages installed under DDS Version 2.0 have to be reinstalled and the system bus configurator may have to be reconfigured.
