Description The PLC Targets will be installed before starting the program PLC Designer by running the setup files.
In the target support package (TSP) you can find all configuration and add-on files, which are required for an application to operate a certain PLC (target system, target). The configuration applies to: the code generator, the memory layout, functions of the PLC and the I/O-modules. For the PLC browser etc. you must also integrate libraries, gateway-drivers, error-and ini-files. The main element of the TSP can be one or several target files. One target file refers to the additionally required target files for the configuration. It can share this configuration with other target files though.
During the installation of the TSP the corresponding target file for every target system is saved in its own folder and its path is recorded. The corresponding files are also copied onto the PC according to the info file *.tnf, which is additionally included in the TSP. The name of the target folder is the same as the name of the target. The system proposes the integration in a folder named by the producer.
The files installed with a target support package are read during the program start of the PLC Designer. The configuration of the target system, which is made in the programming system, is saved with the corresponding project.
System requirements
• Microsoft® Windows® XP
• 100 MB free hard disc drive capacity
• VGA graphic adapter
• pointing device (mouse, trackball, etc)
Installation
How to install the PLC targets:
1. Extract the ZIP file 'IPC_V6.30.zip' (3.48 MB) on your PC. In the ZIP file you find two installation files.
Setup_L-force_Logic_x700_V6.30.exe ==> Logic Target, contains no motion libraries, shorter loading and compilation time
and
Setup_L-force_Motion_x700_V6.30.exe ==> Logic and Motion Target, contains also the motion libraries
2. Start the program 'Setup_L-force_Logic_x700_V6.30.exe' respectively 'Setup_L-force_Motion_x700_V6.30.exe' and follow the installation instructions.
Please observe that the installation of this target overwrites a possibly already existing other version of the PLC target V6.xx on the PC. This only applies to targets within the main version V6.xx. Targets of other main versions (e. g. V5.xx) are not affected.
Function extensions as compared with version V5.x
- EtherCAT Fielbus supportet (IPC Firmware V2.1 needed)
- Update CANopen Libs V2.3.8.4
- Update SoftMotion Libs V1.9.4.7
- SysLibForce.lib added
- Before installation of the new target, the currently installed target version is evaluated. If the currently installed target is newer than the one which shall be installed, a dialog will ask for how to proceed.
Release:
The PLC Designer Targets version V6.29 is released for being used with the
- IPC firmware as of V2.0.4
- PLC Designer as of V2.0
Please observe:
The behaviour of the L-force control technology PLC target V5 differs from the behaviour of the L-force control technology PLC target V6 when the bit addressing is evaluated with %QX or %IX.
Behaviour of the V5 target: Bit addresses refer to word addresses. Example:
- %IX2.4 is Bit 4 in %IW2 or also Bit 4 in %IB4
- %IX3.11 is Bit 11 in %IW3 or also Bit 3 in %IB7
Behaviour of the V6 target: Bit addesses refer to byte addresses. Example:
- %IX2.4 is Bit 4 in %IB2
- IX3.11 is not permitted, it is addressed to Bit 3 in %IB4
If a project generated with the V5 target is to be changed to the V6 target the addresses of the process image which have been used when declaring the global variables must be adapted.
The PLC targets V5 are still supported in case of release 2.x of the control technology. This means, if a project generated with release 1.5 is changed to 2.x it is not imperative to change the PLC targets from V5 to V6. It is only required to change to V6 if the EtherCAT fieldbus is to be used.
