L_MC1P Brake logic in controller with i950 TA CiA402-Advanced: Holding brake does not open when a start torque is specified (corrected from V03.23.00)
Corrected from: Library: L_MC1P_MotionControlBasic from V03.23.00.159
(Update via Package-Manager)
(additional the correction is implemented in version V03.21.02.01)
Response of the new version:
The brake logic in the superimposed PLC now also works correctly with specification of a start torque for jerk-free load transfer with hoists.
Servo inverter i950: as of i950 FW V01.05.03 the library L_MC1P is included with the fix for the correct brake control.
What happens?
Brake control: The holding brake connected to the i950 is not controlled to open and remains closed. A corresponding error message is output.
When does the behaviour occur?
i950 with TA CiA402-Advanced (0x4000 = 1) or with TA User (0x4000 = 10000),
based on the project template TA CiA402-Advanced.
Automatic brake in the controller: The holding brake of the i950 is controlled by the higher-level controller (PLC).
Presetting of a start torque for low jerk load transfer for hoists (active load). Setting parameters of the motion axis in the control: subindex 117, subindex 118.
Which products are affected?
Library: L_MC1P_MotionControlBasic only affected in version V03.21.00 and V03.22.00.
Use the brake function within the i950 (0x2820:1 = 0).
Use the brake function in the PLC without the low jerk load transfer function. Parameterization without presetting a start torque:
Subindex 117 = [1]
Subindex 118 = 0,0%
Use of the predecessor versions: L_MC1P_MotionControlBasic V03.20.00 (Included in i950 FW V01.04.02). With these versions also the low jerk load transfer works.
Update measure after availability of the corrected library L_MC1P:
For i950 applications with TA CiA402-Advanced (0x4000 = 1): Firmware update to corrected version.
For applications i950 with TA User (0x4000 = 10000) based on project template 'TA CiA402 Advanced': Firmware update to corrected version plus update of PLC project in i950.
Evaluation / Recommendations:
The drive cannot be used without releasing the holding brake.
With the described short-term measures the brake can be released and the system availability can be established.
Jerking / sagging during load transfer must be tolerable.
Affected are existing applications with i950 with TA CiA402 Advanced (0x4000 = 1), where a device replacement including firmware update is necessary, as well as their new commissioning.
Not affected are: i950 applications with TA User (0x4000 = 10000), based on the project template 'TA CiA402 Advanced', where the existing PLC project has not been updated to the affected version.
