Cable check and ASM without brake: when erroneously selecting 'with holding brake' in 0x2820:1, the motor shaft performs a compensating movement (corrected from V02.12.02)

Corrected from:
i700 servo inverter, V2:   from  V02.12.02.12444
i700 servo inverter, V1:   no alteration planned for V1

Response of the new version:
The described behaviour doen`t occur anymore now.

What happens?
An error message occurs because of a slight compensating movement at the motor shaft occurring when executing the cable-check function.
The cable-check function is not completed successfully.

When does this behaviour occur?
  • The cable-check function is activated  AND
  • a motor without motor holding brake is used AND
  • the brake mode has not been set to 0x2820:1 = 2 (No brake connected).
Which products are affected?
i700 servo inverter, V1
i700 servo inverter, V2

Short-term measures:
If there is no motor holding brake available, set the brake mode parameter 0x2820:1 to 0x2820:1 = 2 (No brake connected).

Evaluation/recommendations:
We recommend that you always set the brake mode parameter 0x2820:1 to 0x2820:1 = 2 (No brake connected) when using a drive system without motor holding brake.
In this way, the existing drive configuration can be seen offline from the parameter setting when servicing is required.
