Corrected from:
3200C controller V3.13
p500 panel controller V3.13
Response of the new version:
The CAN interfaces of the MC-CAN2 card can be operated without restrictions with a baud rate of 1000000 bps in the 3200C and the p500 controllers.
What happens?
The nodes connected to the CANbus do not change to the "Operational" state. The number of error telegrams on the CANbus increases.
When does this behaviour occur?
The behaviour may occur if a baud rate of 1000000 bits/s has been selected in the CANbus node of the PLC Designer project.
Which products are affected?
3200C controller from V3.9
p500 panel controller from V3.9
Short-term measures:
Use a CAN baud rate other than 1000000 bits/s in the application.
Evaluation/recommendations:
Typically, a baud rate of 500 kBaud is used in applications. This corresponds to the default setting in the PLC Designer. A higher baud rate is only selected if more data is to be transferred via the CANbus. Due to the function restriction, it is possible that, in this case, the CANbus nodes may no longer be able to exchange process data and the machine therefore does not start.
