Setting or activation of the maximum jerk of traversing profiles

Which products are affected?

Inverter Drives 8400 HighLine and TopLine from firmware version 14.00.00.00

Functional description

For the "Positioning", "Manual jog", and "Homing" operating modes the user can define whether the current acceleration is to be decreased by the maximum jerk. Like this, the greater of the two jerk values of profile 1 or profile 2 is automatically used.

Without this function, always the jerk of the profile is used to which the change-over was made. This may in particular cause an obviously unexpected movement if the jerk (acceleration/S-ramp time) in the sequence profile is considerably lower than that in the first profile.

An optimised movement at the transitions of operating modes and/or profile change-overs is therefore provided.

The function is activated via bit 05 of the settings of the respective operating mode. Manual jog setting
