9400 Servo PLC from firmware version 05.00.10.00
Response of the new version?
An oscilloscope recording of optional application variables reflects the correct values of the variables at the scanning time.
Which products are affected?
9400 HighLine with a firmware version ≤ 10.xx.xx.xx
9400 Servo PLC with a firmware version ≤ 04.xx.xx.xx
What happens?
The values of an Engineer oscilloscope recording of application variables are not correct and are usually displayed with zero.
When does the problem occur?
If a memory area of 64 kbytes is exceeded by the globally created application variables. All variables in the range of >64kbytes cannot be recorded.
Diagnostics options?
There is no clear diagnostics option to detect whether the memory area of 64kbytes has been exceeded. If a recording has been made, on the basis of a service code it can be checked whether the values recorded are the correct values of the variable:
· Set the checkbox "Show invisible parameters" in the Engineer Tools->Options menu under the Service tab
· Only if C731/44=0, the values in oscilloscope channel 1 are correct. If a
value > 0 is entered here, we are dealing with the response described.
· Channels 2-8 can be checked in the same way in parameters C732/44 to C738/44.
Short-term measures/recommendations?
None.
Evaluation:
Theoretically, the oscilloscope recording could supply any incorrect values for global variables; usually, however, a value of zero is constantly recorded. Global variables cannot be reliably recorded. Variables of the operating system, e.g. of the motor control, are not affected. The device functionality is not affected.
The memory area of 64kbytes for global variables is usually not exceeded for 9400 HighLine devices.
