Current dips at fswitch<8kHz and drive-optimised modulation

Eliminated from:

8400 StateLine, HighLine and TopLine: FW version = 13.00.00.00

Response of the new version?
Current dips do not occur anymore.

Which products are affected?
8400 StateLine, HighLine and TopLine: 02.00.00.00 ≥ FW version ≤ 13.00.00.00

What happens?
During field weakening operation, control noises increase, clicking noises can be heard. Short-time current dips and therefore torque dips can be identified.

When does the problem occur?
If the following conditions coincide:
  • Field weakening operation of ASM or SM.
  • The PWM works with a switching frequency fswitch<8kHz in a drive-optimised modulation mode (C018=1...4 and 21…22)
Diagnostics options?
Current dips with a duration of up to 250µs can be oscillographed by means of a conventional oscilloscope. The switching frequency currently active is shown in C725.

Short-term measures/recommendations?
Set the switching frequency C018 so that a switching frequency fswitch>4kHz is always used during the PWM.

Evaluation:
The deterioration of the smooth running at speeds in the field weakening range is disruptive; however, in many cases the impact on the movement of the machine is not very distinct. The response may occur with the default setting.
