SoftMotion axes stop after removing an EtherCAT interruption (corrected from V3.9)
Corrected from: 3200 C controller V3.9 p500 controller V3.9
Response of the new version:
The removal of the interruption on the EtherCAT bus no longer leads to an EtherCAT fault and the axes located before the interruption are therefore not affected.
What happens? The SoftMotion axes stop moving.
When does this behaviour occur?
After a connection interruption in the EtherCAT line, the axes located before the interruption viewed from the controller will initially continue operation. If the interruption is removed, the DC synchronisation will be infringed and all EtherCAT axes will stop.
Which products are affected?
L-force 3200 C controller from V3.6
L-force p500 controller from V3.6
Short-term measures:
Restart the EtherCAT bus.
Evaluation/recommendations: Depending on where the EtherCAT connection is interrupted, the controller may continue to control nodes on the bus. The removal of the interruption leads to an EtherCAT fault due to which all axes on the EtherCAT will be stopped.
