Function extension:
The motor utilisation (I²xt) monitoring for the i700 servo inverter has been extended.
So far, the motor utilisation (I²xt) monitoring has been implemented as follows:
The controller is controlled via the user program in the controller (controller-based). When the monitoring responds, the i700 does not inhibit itself.
Appropriate measures for protecting the motor must be initiated via the user program, e.g. reduction of the machine power. Accordingly, so far, only a warning threshold (0x2D4E or 0x354E) had to be set in the i700 to ensure that the i700 sends a "Warning" (bit in the status word) to the higher-level controller when exceeding the threshold.
In addition, it is now possible that the controller itself executes an error response:
When a motor overload (I²xt) is detected and the error response has been set accordingly, the controller can now inhibit itself to protect the motor from further overheating.
Inhibiting the controller automatically is not always possible and not always useful. In these cases, the new function can also be deactivated (0x2D50:1 = 0: 'No response').
Parameters available for the warning message to the controller:
Warning threshold: 0x2D4E (or 0x354E for axis B), value range: 0...250%, Lenze setting: 100%
Additional parameters for independently inhibiting the controller:
Error threshold: 0x2D50:2 (or 0x3550:2 for axis B), value range: 0...250%, Lenze setting: 105% Error response: 0x2D50:1 (or 0x3550:1 for axis B), adjustable: 0: No response, 1: Fault, Lenze setting: 0: No response
The previous monitoring function with the warning threshold and the new function with the error threshold are both autonomous, i.e. they work in parallel.
When the thresholds are set accordingly, first a warning will be sent to the controller which can take controller measures as before. Only if the motor utilisation continues to increase and the error threshold is exceeded, the controller will inhibit itself.
Please observe:
The motor utilisation (I²xt) monitoring is based on a caluclation model. As a matter of principle, this monitoring function cannot fully protect the motor!
