Function description When SS1 or SS2 has been activated the SM301 has up to now only checked by at the end of the stopping time whether standstill has been reached or not. Now, the SM301 can monitor the ramping down profile. If the ramp monitored is exceeded STO (Safe Torque Off) is activated immediately, i. e. it is not waited for the end of the stopping time. As a result, coasting starts earlier (especially in case of long ramp times) and, as a consequence, the motor comes earlier to standstill. Safety intervals of the machine may be reduced.
