Functional description
Previously, a sin-cos encoder was essential for safe speed detection. With the SM301 V1.3, a resolver combined with a load encoder can also be used for safe speed detection.
Applications
This two-encoder concept is of interest for applications where a (non-Lenze) motor with a resolver is used and an encoder is necessary on the load as well as for the process. In some circumstances, this two-encoder concept (resolver and simple TTL encoder) can be even less expensive that a motor with a sin-cos (absolute value) encoder.
A gearbox factor between the motor encoder and the load encoder can be parameterised and the mounting direction of the load encoder can be parameterised as well.
Engineer V2.10 and 9400 axis module (E94AxxExxx4) with firmware V7.0 are necessary in order to make use of the extended function.
If a digital load encoder (SSI or bus encoder) is to be used, the 9400 axis module must be equipped with firmware V7.1.
