Supporting encoders including SSI interfaces

Which products are affected?
9400 HighLine axis controllers from Firmware version 05.00.30.00

Functional description
Now encoders including SSI interfaces can be evaluated at the X8 encoder input. For this purpose the encoders must use the Stegmann SSI protocol. Bit rates from 150 up to 1000 kbits are supported in SSI communication. The permissible data word width ranges from 1 to 31 bits (effective). The Gray code or the binary code is supported as the output code of the SSI encoder. The SSI encoder can be used via the application as a position encoder or as a master encoder with a minimum cycle time of 1 ms. Up to a maximum voltage of 12 V and a maximum current of 0.25 A the SSI encoder can be supplied via X8. The received SSI data words are provided to the application via the LS_SsiEncoderX8 system block for further processing in the function block editor. This system block is only provided in controllers including the MM3xx or MM4xx memory module.

Applications
Electrical shaft and synchronous applications requiring a master encoder to be evaluated directly at X8. Positioning applications including linear and rotary SSI encoders.
