What happens?
Neither the Ethernet connection nor the system bus connection can be used to communicate with the module.
When does the problem occur?
A valid IP address area is set by means of the subnet mask. The highest possible IP address in the subnet range selected must not be assigned since this is a broadcast IP address. This means that the module can only receive Ethernet telegrams but it does not answer them. In this case the system bus CAN connection is deactivated, too.
Possible diagnostics?
The module is no longer found via both communication sides.
Short-term measures/recommendations?
None.
Evaluation:
Since the IP address is set during commissioning situations which can be classified as critical for the system cannot occur.
