Emergency telegram when an error occurs

Which products are affected?
EMF 2181 ModemCAN communication module FW version 1.2

Function description
Up to now possible error codes of the communication module mentioned above have only been indicated on the LED display. As of firmware version 1.2 possible error codes are now transmitted in the form of a CAN emergency telegram, too.

Applications
Emergency telegrams are sent once when the errors mentioned below occur and when they are eliminated. Afterwards the telegrams are read and interpreted by a CANopen PLC.
The emergency telegram consists of 8 bytes.
  • Byte 1,2    Emergency Error Code 0x00FF
  • Byte 3       Error Register Object I-1001hex
  • Byte 4-8    Manufacturer-specific error messages

0x00 00 00 00 00              Dial-in of the host PC, no error message, status message only
0x01 xx xx 00 00              Error when the CAN/CANopen is initialised
0x02 xx xx 00 00              Error when the gateway (part 1) is initialised
0x03 xx xx 00 00              Error when the gateway (part 2) is initialised
0x04 xx xx 00 00              Error when the TCP/IP server is initialised
0x05 xx xx 00 00              Error when the TCP/IP server is initialised

Note
The emergency telegram (with the manufacturer-specific message 0x00 00 00 00 00) is only sent once on the CAN bus when the system bus configurator has dialled-in successfully.
