Positioning in the traversing range ¨Modulo¨ (remedied from V1.5)

Remedied from?
9400 HighLine SW 1.5

Corrected function restriction
If an absolute feedback system is used, it is possible to keep the home position in Modulo mode even after the drive has been switched off. If the drive is now rotated in the disconnected state (±1/2 of the encoder display area at the maximum), the position is still correctly calculated in the Modulo measuring system. Homing is not required.
In the firmware 1.37 and lower, the position was not correctly calculated. This error has been corrected.

Which products are affected?
9400 HighLine SW ≤ V1.37

What happens?
In applications with the traversing range mode 'Modulo', the actual position is not correctly reconstructed after mains switching. If, in addition, the function 'keep home position after mains switching' is selected in the basic function 'homing' (C2652 = 1), then the position of the drive may be interpreted incorrectly during positioning.

When does the problem occur?
Applications with modulo positioning, such as rotary indexing tables, machining centres etc.

Possible diagnostics?
Comparison of the current position of the drive in code C2656 before and after the mains switching.

Short-term measures/recommendations?
Do not use the function 'keep home position after mains switching', i. e. set C2652 = 0 (delete). The drive must be homed after every mains switching.

Evaluation
The function restriction must be taken into account during the planning phase of the application.
