Ixt monitoring of the internal brake chopper with brake resistors > RB, MIN (remedied from V3.0)

Eliminated from:
9400 HighLine SW V3.0

Behaviour of the new version?
From the new version, the utilisation of the brake chopper is calculated with the parameterised brake resistance.

<hr>

Which products are affected?
E94ASHExxx4 (9400 Servo Drives HighLine, Single Drive)

What happens?
The utilisation of the brake transistor is calculated from the operating time and an associated minimum resistance RB, MIN for the device. As a result, the permissible continuous/maximum output of a real connected brake resistor with RB > RBMIN is not exploited. The calculation of the utilisation is performed using fixed stored data for the resistance value assigned to the device, while the real braking current is not recorded as an actual value.

When does the problem occur?
Use of a brake resistor with a larger resistance value than the resistance assigned to the device.

Possible diagnostics?
Check the dimensioning of the components.
Check the settings of codes C00129…C00132 (parameterisation of the monitoring function of the brake resistor).
Evaluation of the fault messages for monitoring of the temperature of the brake resistor and the utilisation of the internal brake chopper in codes C00573 and C00574.

Short-term measures/recommendations?
Use designated brake resistors in different performance classes for the specific configured device. Download the 'Brake resistors data sheet' from www.lenze.de/DSC

Evaluation
As a result of this restriction, in some cases it may not be possible to adopt the existing dimensioning of components in existing machine designs.
In some cases it may not be possible to create applications with specially co-ordinated components.
