Rotor position adjustment, absolute value encoder and SD7 trip, PL trip (elimination)

Which products are affected?
9300EP position controller V7.0
9300ES servo controller V7.0

Eliminated function restriction
If an Sd7 error occurred during a rotor position adjustment with an absolute value encoder, this fault message could so far be reset by mains connection without having to execute another rotor position adjustment. The motor could have oversped if the rotor position had not been set accordingly.

An additional fault message in order to avoid the faulty behaviour mentioned before has now been implemented:
'PL – Trip' LECOM error number 89

Display via MONIT function block:
Output 'MONIT-PL' selection number 15044

Conditions for the activation of the PL trip:
If the mains is connected after a rotor position adjustment which has been interrupted by an Sd7 trip during absolute value encoder operation a PL trip is activated in order to avoid the uncontrolled operation of a synchronous motor with incorrect rotor position information.
A PL trip is activated by resetting the control code C0095 from 1 to 0 when the running rotor position adjustment is aborted (enabling the controller).
A PL trip is activated if a rotor position adjustment with any motor encoder is interrupted by switching the 24 V supply and the mains at the same time.

How to reset the fault message:
  • Activate the rotor position adjustment via C0095 = 1 and
  • execute the trip reset afterwards.
  • Carry out the rotor position adjustment.
