Which products are affected?
Template Positioner versions 3.1, 3.3 and V3.4
What happens?
When the home position is searched for the home position of an axis varies by the value of the following error pending at the point of time when the home position is set.
When does the problem occur?
When the home position is set the following error pending in the program cycle is not accepted. The home position is set if the homing signal is detected (homing mark, touch probe signal, limit switch, …). This applies to every home position search mode.
The behaviour also occurs if the home position is set without any movement of the drive.
Possible diagnostics?
With regard to the axis homing is executed twice with an active home position search mode:
1. with low speed and an phase controller adjusted to the optimum and
2. with high speed and a 'smoothly' set phase controller.
The mechanical position of the machine part after the first homing process differs from the one after the second homing process.
Short-term measures/recommendations?
The position error resulting from this restriction depends directly on the following error pending during the homing process. The following error may be minimised by reducing the homing speed and by optimising the controller settings under C0254.
Evaluation:
The deviation in position resulting from the restriction is almost constant. This means that if a homing process is repeated with unchanged homing parameters (speed, acceleration, controller settings) for several times the machine part is stopped in almost the same position (typically 100 increments (electrical), -> to be converted to mechanics).
