Communication interruption between keypad and drive controller

Which products are affected?
9300 vector 0.37…90 kW SW ≤ V6.3
in combination with the EMZ9371Bx keypad SW ≥ V1.2

What happens?
The communication between the keypad and the drive controller is interrupted. The display in the keypad goes off.

When does the problem occur?
The problem occurs when setting the parameters of the drive controller by means of the EMZ9371Bx keypad with SW ≥ V1.2. The communication is interrupted:
  • if the keypad is attached to a drive controller whose parameter set C0143 is set > 6.5 Hz. Under code C0143 a switching frequency changeover depending on the rotating field frequency can be selected.
  • or if code C0143 is parameterised > 6.5 Hz.

Possible diagnostics?
Read out code C0143 via fieldbus or EMZ9371Bx keypad SW ≤ V1.1 by means of the Global Drive Control.

Short-term measures/recommendations?
In order to re-establish the communication code C0143 is to be parameterised ≤ 6.5 Hz. This can be done by applying the tools mentioned under 'Possible diagnostics'. If the settings have not been saved in a mode protecting against mains failure the parameter change can be made undone by mains connection.
Attention: Further parameter changes which have not been saved in a mode protecting against mains failure will get lost, too.
If the application requires a setting of C0143 > 6.5 Hz the communication to the drive controller can be implemented by applying the tools mentioned under 'Possible diagnostics'.

Evaluation:
The drive performance is not affected in a negative way. Easy-to-use workarounds are available.
