DRIVECOM speed control does not work with communication module EMF 2113IB together with a compact servo

Which products are affected?

Communication module EMF 2113IB with FW 1.0 or earlier together with compact servo ECS

How is the reaction?

When the DRIVECOM function 'Speed control' is selected the speed limitation is released => the motor does not start.

When does the problem occur?

When 'DRIVECOM speed control' is selected as the initialisation between communication module and basic device is not carried out correctly (the module does not know on which basic device it is located).

Possible diagnostics?

If the DRIVECOM function 'Speed control' is selected the speed limitation of the basic device is released because the system checks whether the DRIVECOM speed setpoint is within the limits before it is passed on to the controller. The limit value of the maximum speed is generated from code C0011. It is generated only, however, if the controller is identified correctly.

Short-term measures/recommendations?

To ensure safe operation, the communication module EMF 2113IB of firmware version <V1.1 should be replaced with a module of firmware version V1.1. The new software ensures a correct identification of the compact servo.

Evaluation:

This problem already occurs in the commissioning phase of the communication module and is not considered critical because the motor does not start. The only restriction is that the controller cannot be operated with the DRIVECOM function 'Speed control'.
