CAN on-board remains in ¨Initialisation¨ status (C0359 = 8 = CAN-Init) after power-on

Question:
Why do controllers of the 9400 series to which the CAN on-board (X1) is not connected indicate the CAN status 'Initialisation' (C359 = 8) after power-on?

Answer:
The behaviour is due to a change in the boot-up sequence of the CAN on-board interface compared to the 9300: During the boot-up sequence, the servo controller tries to send the specified CAN boot-up telegram via the CAN on-board. If no other CAN nodes are connected, the boot-up telegram cannot be sent. With the CAN bus, there must be at least 2 nodes available for a physical data exchange. If the boot-up telegram cannot be sent, the CAN status changes to 'Initialisation' (C00359 = 8) and the green CAN LED goes off. If an available CAN bus is identified, the status, as usual, changes to PRE OP (Pre-Operational).

Note:
This status is no error status.
