Current consumption of control card 8400 HighLine with external 24 V supply

Question:
What is the current consumption of the 8400 HighLine via terminal 24E when the frequency inverter is externally supplied with 24 V DC?

Answer:
When all interfaces are being used, the max. current consumption of the control card via the external supply (24E) is 0.6 A (at a supply voltage of 24 V DC).

The above values are the max. possible currents required by the corresponding interface at nominal load.

The main consumers on the control card of the 8400 HighLine are:
  • Analog outputs: approx. 50 mA
  • CANopen bus: approx. 50 mA
  • Digital outputs (must be supplied via terminal X4/240 with the 8400 HighLine. The rated current of the three digital outputs is 50 mA each. The rated current of the high-current output is 2.5 A)
  • Auxiliary voltage supply 24I: 50 mA
  • Keypad: approx. 75 mA
  • MCI communication module (max. 3.5 W): approx. 150 mA
  • Relay control: approx. 25 mA

With the 8400 HighLine with drive-based safety, the safety unit is supplied via the safe inputs. Depending on the inverter output, the current consumption of the safety unit is between 100 mA and 200 mA (divided between the two safe inputs of the safety unit).
