Register trimming, range limit

Question:

What has to be considered when the print format of the register trimming is ≥ 1/2?

Answer:

During register initialisation (RC-RINIT = HIGH) the distance of register mark and cylinder mark is detected. This value is displayed under code C1384 (X0-OFFSET).

When the register control is switched on, a register trimming can be made via code C1310 or a function block switching.
Please consider that the complete register trimming during operation is not > 45 % of the print format, even when trimming is made several times. This value is absolute and not to be treated as relative, thus it is referred to an X0-OFFSET of 0 mm.

Example:
The print format is 600 mm.
After initialisation of the control the distance of register and cylinder mark is 200 mm (= C1384).
The total trimming can be in positive direction max. 270 mm (0.45 * 600 mm) and in negative direction max. - 470 mm (- 200 mm to the same level of the marks and - 270 mm in order not to exceed the 45 %).
If these limits are exceeded, the register control will be switched off.

Remark:
We recommend modifying the sensors' arrangement for applications where the set position of the marks is in a critical range.
