Footprint mains filter for EVS9330/EVS9331 servo inverters (45 kW/55 kW)

Question:
Why does the EVS9330 servo inverter (45 kW) requires an E82ZN55334B230 footprint filter (55 kW) and the EVS9331 servo inverter (55 kW) requires an E82ZN75334B230 footprint filter (75 kW)?

Answer:

The EZN3X0037H090 mains filter (0.37 mH; 90 A) indicated in the operating instructions and catalogues is supposed to be used for mounting via EVS9330 servo inverter. As normally a subassembly RFI filter shows a more unfavourable heat emission due to the direct contact with the drive controller-heat sink, an overdimensioning of the mains filter rated power could be required.

Moreover, the EVS9330 servo inverter has - in contrast to the EVF9330 and E82453 frequency inverter of 45 kW - an additional fan unit, which increases the mounting height by ca. 10 cm (see below figure). Thus, the connection cable fixed in the mains filter is not adequate for the EVS9330 servo inverter.

Therefore, the power or the rated current are not decisive for the subassembly RFI filter's dimensioning, but the assignment according to the mounting instructions of the footprint mains filter 15...90 kW (see chapter 4, mounting instructions, e. g. in the Lenze library (X1_Accessories -> X15_External_accessories -> X_150_Mains_side)).
