Overload message (OCx) when acceletion in vector controller

Question:

How can overload messages (OCx) be avoided for short acceleration times (often occurs in case of positioning drives)?

Answer:

Acceleration time settings < 1 may cause fault indications OC3, OC4, OC5 and even OC1in extreme situations.
This behaviour results from the fact that the DC-speed controller (Imax controller/M controller) cannot follow the dynamic process; thus the peak current initiates too late.
The modification of the Imax controller's integral action time (C0078) enables an adjustment.

Measures:
  • Reduce value in C0078  => Imax controller accelerates (with more dynamic)
  • Reduce value in C0077  => Imax controller influence decreases
