I/O 1000 EtherCAT bus coupler sporadically reports 'inconsistent settings' (corrected from EPM-S131)
Corrected from:
I/O1000 Bus coupler EPM-S131 (from V40)
Behaviour of new version:
The behaviour described no longer occurs. The alarms no longer have to be deactivated when using the EPM-S131 bus coupler.
What happens?
The Lenze EtherCAT master does not switch the EtherCAT EPM-S130 bus coupler to 'Operational' and, thus, does not change to 'Operational' either. The following message is entered into the PLC logbook: EPM_S130 (EtherCAT address): Slaves signals Error. AL Status: 'PRE OPERATIONAL' (0x12), AL Status Code: 'Unknown Text' (0x26)
When does this behaviour occur?
If analog I/O modules (EPM-S40x) are connected on the backplane bus of the EtherCAT EPM-S130 bus coupler and their inputs are not interconnected, the EtherCAT bus coupler sporadically reports the AL status code 0x26 (= 'inconsistent settings') when the EtherCAT master is started. As a consequence, neither the EtherCAT slave nor the EtherCAT master change to 'Operational'.
Which products are affected?
I/O 1000 EPM-S130 bus coupler from firmware V2.8 with analog EPM-S40x input modules
c300 controller
3200 C controller
p300 panel controller
p500 panel controller
Short-term measures:
Deactivate the open-circuit monitoring at the analog EPM-S40x I/O modules via the corresponding parameter or interconnect the free inputs of the I/O modules.
For this purpose, the parameters of all EPM-S40x analog I/O modules are set to the following values (if these parameters are available): 0x310x Subindex 1: Disable 0x310x Subindex 2: 0
Evaluation/recommendations:
In the case of free inputs of the analog I/O 1000 modules, the EtherCAT master may not change to 'Operational'. An applicative solution is described under 'Short-term measures'.
