EASY Starter Parameter Upload from i950 to *.gdc or *.lda

Question:
Which parameter values are loaded into the *.gdc or *.lda file when uploading via EASY Starter, the active parameter values or the retain parameter values?
What must be observed when using this function?

Answer:
With the upload into a *.gdc file the active parameters of the online connected i950 are saved.
When uploading to a *.lda file,  the boot application and the non-volatile stored parameter set from the SD card plus the current values of the display parameters are saved (read-only).
Here the use case is in the foreground with the saved data to be able to put an exchange device into operation.

Please note:
  • In i950 applications as CiA 402 actuator (0x4000 = 0) there is no boot application on the SD card. An EASY Starter upload into a *.lda file is therefore not possible.
  • If the i950 is used with TA CiA Advanced (0x4000 = 1), parameter handling takes place in the Motion Control PLC. Typically, the SD card does not contain the parameter set that is effective during operation as motion actuator.
Without further measures, the appropriate boot application would be uploaded, but any parameters from the SD card would be loaded into the *.lda file, namely the parameters that were saved at some point in time. To transfer the effective parameters to the *.lda file, the parameter set must be saved as before: Save user data 0x2022:3 = 1.
