Question:
What are the differences between the device parameters 0x2022:3 (Save user data) and 0x2022:40 (Parameter backup) and how do they work?
Answer:
This information applies to i950 servo inverters FW V01.03.07 and higher.
In this context, three device parameters are of interest:
Documentation
Saving/loading parameter settings
If parameter settings of the inverter are changed, these changes at first are only made in the RAM memory of the inverter. In order to save the parameter settings with mains failure protection, the inverter is provided with the corresponding device command in the parameter 0x2022:003.
The device command 0x2022:43 (Restore) can only be used if a parameter backup (0x2022:40) has been created before.
Note: Memory module = SD card

The firmware is not stored directly in the "parameter backup", but in the file \firmware\update_data.tar the data for the automatic firmware update, when booting with this SD card, are stored .
