i950 Hardware: Resolution of feedback systems Resolver and SinCos encoder

Questiom:
With what resolution are resolvers and SinCos encoders evaluated on the i950?

Answer:
The resolver can be calculated with 16 stable bits.

With the SinCos encoder, the total resolution is composed of two components.
1. Incremental evaluation (counting the zero crossings), depending on the number of lines of the encoder, e.g. 10 bits for an encoder with 1024 periods / rev
2. Analogue evaluation or high resolution: 10 bits
Thus, for example, an encoder with 1024 periods / rev with a total resolution of 20 bits could be evaluated

The actual achievable position accuracy of a sensor system is also significantly determined by the cultivation and the actual reproducible accuracy of the encoder.
