Question:
What is the function of the internal DC fuses in the i700 axis modules and i950 ?
When do the internal DC fuses trip?
Answer:
The internal DC fuses in the i700 axis modules and i950 (device size 3) serve to minimise consequential damage in the event of an inverter defect.
The DC fuses only trip in the event of a major device defect, e.g. in the case of a short circuit in the power section of the inverter.
Since the DC fuses are firmly soldered in the device they cannot be simply replaced on site.
Due to the defect in the power section, merely replacing the DC fuses would not be enough to recommission the device.
The device must at any rate be replaced and, if necessary, be sent in for repair.
i700 servo inverter:
- i700, size 1 (narrow): 1x 30A
- i700, size 2 (wide): 2x 30A in parallel connection, i.e. 60A.
i950 servo inverter:
- i950, size 3 only (smallest): 1x 30A
- i950, other sizes: contains no DC fuses
