I would like to use a servo motor with EnDat 2.1-encoder AM2048-5V-E in connection with safe monitoring functions. What are the safety characteristics of the encoder?

The encoder AM2048-5V-E is not a safety-encoder and must not be used in a single-encoder application with functional safety. But it may be used as one channel in a redundant encoder-system. It has the following safety characteristics according to EN ISO 13849-1:
MTTFd = MTTF: 190 years
DC: 99%
The above values are only valid if the encoder is evaluated by SM301, SM302 or extended safety as the motor encoder!
