9400 with SM301 - Safe torque off and safely-limited position - performance level e

Function:
When the safety function is requested, the motor is stopped according to stop category 0 of EN 60204-1.

After switching on the system, an emergency stop or an error in the SM301, homing is required (negative direction to touch probe). The SM301 is in normal operation, SLS1 with SDIneg is activated.
If the limit switch is actuated (home position found), the home position will be set via DI8 (touch probe) in the 9400. In the SM301, OMS will be activated. This activates the safe output and deactivates SLS1 with SDIneg.
As soon as the drive has retracted from the limit switch, the ES will be activated to enable the direction.
SLI is used as absolute position monitoring. As motion function, SLS2 is used with both directions enabled.
If the limit switch is actuated (enabled traversing range in negative direction left) when the home position is known, the ES will be deactivated. This activates SS2 / SOS. The motion results in an error.
The limit switch must be equipped with three positively driven normally closed contacts (e. g. Schmersal T4VH 335-03Z).
The distance over which the limit switch is actuated must be bigger than the 'SOS tolerance margin'.
During homing, the motor must reverse within the 'SOS tolerance margin'.

Safety information / disclaimer:

The safety application and parameterisation notes are examples of possible subfunctions in machines.

The T10D value according to DIN EN ISO 13849-1, Annex C.4.2 is only indicated if a B10D value is available and the operating time is less than 20 years.

Commissioning is prohibited until the machine has been checked in accordance with the regulations set out in the relevant EU directives / national laws.

The safety instructions contained in the technical documentation must be observed.

Using the examples does not exempt the user from careful project planning. For possible damages and consequential damages Lenze assumes no liability to the extent permitted by law.
