Absolute positioning over distances larger than 2^31[inc.]

Question:
May, with absolute positioning in a limited measuring system (C2528 = 1), the positioning distance be larger than the double integer display range (-2^31 ... + 2^31-1[inc.])?

Answer:
Yes, this is allowed. In the absolute positioning mode, the Servo Drives 9400 HighLine allow positioning distances exceeding the DINT display range.

Example:
  • The drive is at the lower limit of the DINT display range (-2^31[inc.]).
  • The upper limit of the DINT display range is selected as target position (2^31-1[inc.]).
  • When an absolute positioning process is started, the drive will traverse by a distance of 2^32-1[inc.].
