Answer:
The diagnostic adapter features two connections with different transmission techniques:
USB 1.0
Here, the maximum cable length is 3 m (low-speed cable) or 5m for shielded USB cables.
According to the USB specifications, USB extension cables are not permitted!
RS 422
Lenze offers different RS422 cables (EWL0070 - EWL0072). You can choose between 3 cable lengths (2.5 m, 5 m and 10 m).
The maximum cable length that can be used is 20 m. For cables longer than 20 m, perfect communication can no longer be ensured because the cable resistance becomes too high and it therefore cannot be ensured that the supply voltage of the 8400/9400 drive controller is still enough to operate the adapter.
