Question:
Why is the recipe data deleted with some Lenze operating units when the operating units are switched off for some time?
Answer:
If the operating unit does not contain a battery or if the battery charge is insufficient recipe data may be lost when the Lenze operating unit is switched off for some time.
With the following Lenze operating units, the recipe data memory is secured by means of an internal battery (3-V lithium battery, diameter 19 mm; CR2032; Lenze order designation EPZ-H600):
• EPM-T410 (graphics display)
• EPM-T510 (touch screen)
• EPM-T520 (touch screen)
The battery is not included in the delivery package of the operating unit. I.e. the user must insert and maintain the battery himself. Without battery or when changing the battery, the operating units can buffer the recipe data without data loss for at least 30 minutes.
Remedy:
1. Use operating units which store the recipe data (non-volatile) in the flash memory. The following Lenze operating units store the recipe data in the flash memory:
• EPM-H502 (touch screen)
• EPM-H505 (touch screen)
• EPM-H515 (touch screen)
• EPM-H521 (touch screen)
• EPM-H605/606 (handheld)
To replace, e. g., an H520 by an H521, your project can be easily converted by using the HMI Designer and then loaded into the H521. However, the recipe data contained in the H520 must be re-entered into the H521.
2. Check the status of your battery. The EPM-H410 operating unit displays the battery status via a LED. Otherwise, for all operating units the battery status can be queried via the status area of the operating unit.
3. Store the recipe data of the operating unit on your PC by using the HMI Designer. In case of a data loss in the operating unit, you can reload the stored recipe data into the operating unit by using the HMI Designer.
It is not possible to process recipe data on your PC.
