Question:
The 9400 axis modules as of frame size 8 are factory-set in a way that the device fans are supplied via the AC-connections L1, L2 and L3. In case of supply on DC-side the fans are not supplied. How can the device fans be operated independent from the mains supply via L1, L2 and L3?
Answer:
The fan is supplied in the device via plug FK103. According to the default-setting there are bridges between terminals 100 and 102, as well as between terminals 101 and 103. Consequently, the fan supply is executed via the mains terminals (see picture 1). If the device fans are supposed to be supplied externally, please proceed as follows:
1. Make sure that there is an external charging current limitation.
2. Eliminate the bridges between FK103/100 and 102, as well as between FK103/101 and 103.
3. Connect an AC voltage 400 ... 500 V AC, 50/60 Hz to the terminals FK103/100 and 101 (as shown in figure 2). The current consumption of the fans for the different devices can be taken from the red-marked column in the attachment.
Note: Screw-type terminals of size M3, starting torque 0.5 ... 0.6 Nm
