Enabling for technology functions of the ECS, conditions for free programming

Question:
To what extent can the variants of the ECS-axis modules (Speed&Torque, Posi&Shaft, Motion, Application) freely be programmed with DDS ?

Answer:

ECS, variant 'Application' (ECSxA):
The ECS-axis modules of the variant 'Application' are default enabled for applying the Lenze technology functions - technology units are loaded.
Only with this enabling the extent technology functions 'Positioner', 'Cam' or 'Winder' can be operated with the ECS axis modules (= application of the technology libraries e. g. 'MotionControl.lib or CamControl.lib).
All devices with the designation ECSxA on the name plate (also the older ones) are freely programmable by means of Drive Developer Studio (DDS).
Self-created DDS projects by means of DDS can be loaded, as well as the application software versions 'Speed&Torque', 'Posi&Shaft' or 'Motion'.

ECS with application software (A-SW) 'Speed&Torque', 'Posi&Shaft', 'Motion' (ECSxS, ECSxP, ECSxM):
These variants are sold for a cheaper price than the application variant, therefore they are inhibited for the usage of the Lenze technology functions - no technology units are loaded.
They are designed for the operation with the standard variants of the application software ('Speed&Torque', 'Posi&Shaft' or 'Motion').
Self-created DDS programs can be loaded. These DDS-projects are, however, not allowed to contain the technology libraries (e. g. 'MotionControl.lib or CamControl.lib).
With the PC tool 'GD-Loader' the correspondingly required application software 'Speed&Torque', 'Posi&Shaft' or 'Motion' can also be loaded.

If necessary, for extra charge it is technically possible to eliminate the technology function's inhibit (technology-inhibit).
The enabling is executed similar as in case of the 9300 Servo PLC via activation codes, which can be ordered from the Lenze customer service.
